Writer Andrei Strambeanu has launched the book “Floare-de-Cais sau Mielul netaiat” (“Apricot Flower or Uncut Lamb”), which is an autobiographical poem intended for children of all ages, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The book relates a story about my childhood. I was affected by the wish of a neighbor of mine to kill his lamb for his meat and did everything possible to prevent the killing. It is a story designed for children of all ages. Even the grownups can learn something from it, especially to be more compassionate,” said the author during the launch. Attending the event, the first President of Moldova Mircea Snegur said that this poem will be better understood by parents than children. “The children are more merciful to the animals, but not all of them. There are children in towns who maltreat animals. The parents of these chidden should react. All those who read this poem are impressed,” said Mircea Snegur. Madalina Panfili, a student of the High School “Gheorghe Asachi” and Andrei Strambeanu’s neighbor, recited a fragment of the poem, saying it was the first poem of the author that she learned by heart. She stressed that every child should read such stories so as to be kinder. Translator Ion Margineanu translated the poem into German, saying such works should be known in many countries. “There will be issued a volume with this poem in five languages – Romanian, Russian, French, English and German,” he announced. Poet, prose writer and dramatist Andrei Strambeanu is the author of such books as “White Well”, “Throw me into the Sky”, “The Bride” and “Counerpoint”.
