The new mayor of Chisinau Andrei Nastase, in a press briefing after the announcing of the final preliminary election results, said the basis of a pro-European alliance were laid for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
“In the parliamentary elections, we should give a decisive blow so as to free the country from oligarchy,” stated the leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, IPN reports.
Andrei Nastase said the elections in Chisinau were a demonstration of democracy and the victory is not only of the team he represents and of the partners, but also of all the inhabitants of the municipality. He approved of the turnout in elections, no matter who the voters supported.
The new mayor also had a message for the voters of Ion Ceban. He assured them that they have the same rights and he will be the mayor of everyone. “This victory belongs to us, the inhabitants of Chisinau, the suburban communities and the whole country. From now on, we should remained united so as to obtain new and new victories,” stated Andrei Nastase.
He reiterated that the PPPDA will run in the elections alongside the PAS and PLDM, as they pledged to do under a previously signed agreement.
Answering journalists ‘questions, Nastase said he will not propose the post of deputy mayor of Chisinau to Ion Ceban and will not accept him as deputy mayor.
