The president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase, co-president of the Bloc ACUM, said the party he represents does not have unofficial discussions with the Party of Socialists on eventual cooperation in Parliament. “As we stated earlier too, the goal is to ensure things are transparent,” he stated in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.

“The Bloc ACUM pleads for highest-level transparency as this is what the Republic of Moldova needs. During 28 years, everything has been done obscurely, in secret, at cafes and bars and that’s enough,” stated Andrei Năstase.

He called on the Socialists to return to a statement they issued in 2016, which centered on the same subject of de-oligarchization proposed by ACUM, and to update it so that it could be adopted in concert by the MPs of the PSRM and ACUM. “Political will, love for this country and courage are needed for the purpose. Institutions, division, speakers, minority or majority, functional or non-functional government are not needed in this regard. We need political will,” noted the politician.

According to him, all the currently witnessed delays lead to the dissolution of Parliament. “We asked the Socialists to make a commitment not to form an alliance, a coalition, a majority with the one who usurped the power in the Republic of Moldova, the one who keeps them and this country, through them, hostage,” stated Andrei Năstase, referring to the Democratic Party’s leader Vladimir Plahotniuc.

The co-president of ACUM noted that even if it won the most of seats of MP in the February 24 elections, the Party of Socialists never went out to say publicly that it claims the post of Prime Minister and wants to assume governance. Instead, the PSRM wants to control such institutions as the Ministry of Defense and the Security and Intelligence Service.
