The president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase, co-president of the Bloc ACUM, said the snap parliamentary elections are the highest probability. He noted the leader of the Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotniuc wants snap elections, IPN reports.

In the program “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel, Andrei Năstase said the discussions held by the Bloc ACUM and the PSRM were always blocked by those from the shadow and the conditions imposed by ACUM – the election of representatives of the Bloc as Parliament Speaker and Prime Minister – are not for him personally, but are needed for ensuring the adoption of several important laws for changing the situation in the country. There are reservations as to the way in which the PSRM behaves after it obtains the post of Speaker given that it voted a number of laws in concert with the Democratic Party.

Andrei Năstase said the Socialists came to discussions with ACUM only after the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak came to Moldova. In the discussions held with the Socialists on June 4, he told those from the PSRM that the Bloc ACUM finds no argument in support of their insistence to elect their representative as Speaker at a time when those who win the most of votes in a parliamentary state claim the post of Premier. “We find no argument in favor of Zinaida Grecheanyi holding the post of Speaker,” he stated, reiterating that ACUM is ready to vacate the post of Speaker in favor of the PSRM’s candidate immediately after the package of anti-oligarchic laws is adopted, promulgated and published.

According to him, the PSRM and the PDM do not want to assume the formalization of an alliance because particular pressure is exerted from outside and Igor Dodon uses this pressure as an argument to refuse forming a coalition as he knows very well that the snap elections under the current electoral system benefit Plahotniuc and the PDM.

On June 4, the PSRM accepted the Bloc ACUM’s invitation to return to discussions on possible cooperation in Parliament. As representatives of the two entities said, the discussions produced no result.
