The leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase said he will not concede his place of candidate in the presidential elections of this autumn to anyone. The former minister of the interior said the decision he took in 2016, by which he conceded the place to Maia Sandu, will not be repeated in the autumn of 2020, IPN reports.
“I will not repeat the exercises that didn’t produce results. I do not perform exercises for the sake of exercises. There were ten years of struggles as a result of which Vladimir Plahotniuc was removed. If need be, we will remove Igor Dodon in ten months. I struggled and will struggle for the unity of the political forces,” Andrei Năstase stated in the program “Natalia Morari’s Politics” on TV8 channel.
The politician said he is ready to run for office of President in this autumn’s elections.
“I’m ready to do this, but the decision will be taken by the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”. When the PPPDA decides that this person will be me, I will call on all the forces of the country to support me,” he noted.
In the election campaign prior to the presidential elections of 2016, Andrei Năstase withdrew his candidacy and threw his support to the Action and Solidarity Party’s candidate Maia Sandu.
