The leader of the “Party Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase said his nomination as a candidate for Prime Minister would help avoid the installing of a Government subordinated to the PSRM-Shor parliamentary majority. According to Năstase, his party formed a governmental team that can cope with the economic and pandemic crisis and can pave the way for snap parliamentary elections, IPN reports.

The politician noted his party is ready to assume governance by an anti-crisis executive so as to thwart the Socialists’ plan to invest a Government subordinated to Igor Dodon and Ilan Shor.

“As we have some people in Parliament who do not want snap elections and want to maintain the power for them, I speak about the PSRM and the Shor Party, the PPPDA considers that it’s better to have a pro-European anti-crisis Government that would solve the pressing problems of the people and would lay the basis for free and fair elections than to leave the country in their hands,” Andrei Năstase stated in the talk show “Expertise Hour” on Jurnal TV channel.

Moreover, he noted he already constituted his governmental team and is ready to manage a minority Government.

“The DA Platform has a Cabinet that is able to deliver immediate palpable results for the country. Our proposal is aimed at avoiding a constitutional blockage and at not allowing naming a candidate supported by the Dodon- Shor majority,” stated Andrei Năstase.

Acceding to Năstase, the Constitutionals Court’s decision is predictable as a previous judgment passed by it clarifies this issue and the request for the CC to examine this issue again does nothing but prolong the political crisis.

The PSRM challenged in the CC the President’s decree to nominate again Natalia Gavrilița for Prime Minister, arguing Maia Sandu violated the Constitution when she ignored the proposal of a parliamentary majority consisting of 54 MPs, who suggested Mariana Durleșteanu for premiership.
