MP Andrei Năstase, who heads the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, said he prepared a letter addressed to the UK whereby he asks to investigate the banking fraud and the laundering of money by the Russian mafia by an own inquiry. He noted he also sent such letters to other states and to international institutions.
“I will make such approaches to more countries in Europe and the whole world, as I did until now and as I did in Russia,” stated the MP. He noted the leader of the Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotniuc is afraid of the investigations conducted by other persons than the prosecutors he controls. “I will ask the authorities in Venezuela if conviction is possible there and if the money stolen by this individual together with Shor, Leancă and others from this state can be recovered. I will also address other countries, alongside Russia, Venezuela, the UK and the U.S.,” the politician said in a program on Jurnal TV channel.
As to the annulment of the police record on his involvement in election-day campaigning during the mayoral elections in Chisinau, Andrei Năstase said this is apparently good news. “The Centru District Court pronounced an incomplete decision to further delay things and such an approach prevents me from obtaining the seat I won by the people’s vote. On the other hand, it distances the moment when I could go to the European Court of Human Rights,” he stated.
As to the upcoming local elections, Andrei Năstase said these elections cannot be called because Parliament is not functional and this wasn’t made functional for this reason - so that it could not announce the elections.
Asked if he will run for a new term of mayor of Chisinau, the politician stated: “When the election day is decided, I will tell you if I run. My colleagues are right when they say I have a duty towards the citizens of Chisinau. This is the reason why I ran in constituency No. 33 of Chisinau municipality in the parliamentary elections.”
