The chair of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, Andrei Năstase, says that among the four candidates for the position of Prosecutor General who have been admitted to the next stage of selection there is no favourite of his. Thus, Andrei Nastase responds to speculations in the public space that among the candidates there would be favourites of the ruling coalition. At the same time, Andrei Năstase maintains that he cares a great deal about legality and transparency when it comes to job competitions that are so important for the country, IPN reports.
"I will never dare to supplant " their people "with" our people ". I will always accept the democratic rules, the rule of law, the rules established by the Constitution and the normative framework of the country. (...) The person that I would have preferred in this position is out of the competition at the moment, if something does not change because we know that the competitions have taken place and things have changed. I stayed away from this process, "said Andrei Nastase on " Secrets of Power " show, Jurnal TV.
Andrei Nastase noted that there were no suspicions regarding the committee for pre-selection of candidates for the position of Prosecutor General, from which the Superior Council of Prosecutors is going to choose one to forward to President Igor Dodon for appointment.
The chairman of the PPDA says that he has publicly requested that the video recordings from the last stage of the selection of candidates, that is the interviews, be published in order to be able to thoroughly debate the selection process.
After the interview stage, which was held for two days, the Ministry of Justice has announced that there are four finalists out of the 16 candidates who passed the first stage of the competition for the position of Prosecutor General. The short list of candidates includes Oleg Crîșmaru, Vladislav Gribincea, Veaceslav Soltan and Alexandr Stoianoglo.
