Andrei Donică of the Professionals’ Movement “Speranța-Nadejda” was registered as a candidate for the mayoralty of the municipality of Chisinau. A decision to this effect was taken by the Chisinau District Electoral Council that initially didn’t admit Andrei Donică to the electoral competition, IPN reports.
On the website of the Central Election Commission, Andrei Donică was put next to No. 21 on the list of candidates. This is the place on the ballot assigned to him when he filed the documents for being registered as a candidate.
The Chisinau District Electoral Council initially decided not to register Andrei Donică as an election contender for the mayoralty of the capital city for the reason that he had been registered as a candidate for mayor of Condrița village. As a result, the aspirant went to court and the Râșcani Court of Chisinau ruled in his favor. The Chisinau Appeals Court upheld the decision of the ordinary court.
