The situation in Moldova develops according to a plan drawn up by the former first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc, who wants a ruling alliance with the Communists and the country’s external development course to be changed. Such an opinion was stated by the head of the Green Ecologist Party Anatolie Prohnitski in the public debate “How appropriate the behavior of the real and potential participants in the negotiations on the formation of a government coalition is in the current situation in Moldova: extra-parliamentary views”, staged by IPN News Agency in partnership with Radio Moldova.

“The negotiations to form a parliamentary majority coalition cannot have another ending that the planned one. We had been witnesses to such negotiations. We have not a political class, but a genetically modified government that knows only how to enrich themselves and to lie to the people. The oligarch Plahotniuc pushes us towards his own scenario – an alliance with the Communists and the replacement of the external development course,” stated the politician.

Anatolie Prohnitski considers the administration system in Moldova is of Soviet type and wasn’t optimized at all. Only new bodies to institute posts and higher salaries for those who are in power were added. “I, as a citizen, see no prospects. None of the electoral promises were fulfilled. Before the local elections, I transmitted a proposal to the Head of Parliament, suggesting that the lawmakers should not go on leave and should work on the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU because many of the measures are overdue. But most of the MPs went through the country and campaigned. I think the next government won’t be successful either. There will probably be early elections that could lead to the purification of the political class and society” said the leader of the Green Ecologist Party.

According to him, things in Moldova could be brought to normality in four-eight years, but only with the support of the European partners. “Our party, which has close relations with the European family of the Greens, has such possibilities and we not only once urged voting for us so that we could implement this program. Moldova has 32 districts and several municipalities and we proposed establishing relations with territorial administrative units from other states. We also promoted the change of the government system and asked that the President should be elected by the people and that the number of MPs should be reduced,” stated Anatolie Prohnitski, noting that the situation in the country can be improved this way.

The public debate “How appropriate the behavior of the real and potential participants in the negotiations on the formation of a government coalition is in the current situation in Moldova: extra-parliamentary views” is the 45th installment of the series of debates “Developing political culture by public debates” that are supported by the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
