If Marian Lupu and Igor Dodon reach the second round of voting, the largest part of the supporters of the right will not go to vote, journalist Anatolie Golea stated in the talk show “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.

“Most of the voters of the center-right make no distinction between Dodon and Lupu. At least in the case of the supporters of the PPDA, Igor Dodon was near them. But it is highly improbable that the supporters of the right will vote for Dodon. I think these voters will stay at home,” said the journalist.

Anatolie Golea considers the government will try again to profit from the geopolitical factor. “I think that if Lupu and Dodon reach the runoff, all the weapons will be aimed against Dodon. They wil return to the hand of Moscow and to the Russian tanks. But this technique will no longer have an effect on the voters. The people were scared enough in 2014 and voted according to geopolitical criteria,” he said.

As to the nomination of a common candidate of the PPDA, PAS and PLDM, Anatolie Golea suggested that the politicians should show greater responsibility. “The situation about the presidential elections is uncertain. I think the leaders of these parties must assume greater responsibility. Not everything stops at the presidential elections. The President does not have many prerogatives. They should think about the parliamentary elections,” he stated.

The journalist also said that a number of clone-candidates were included in the race for the presidency in order to diminish the chances of some of the candidates. “I think these are the independent candidates who are aware that they do not have chances. They were included in order to steal voters from candidates with real chances,” noted Anatolie Golea.
