Minister of Defense Anatol Salaru resigned from the post of first deputy chairman of the Liberal Party (PL). The announcement was made by Salaru after he left the meeting of the PL’s National Council on December 17, IPN reports.
“Surely, this means that I will also be removed from the other posts – member of the Council and member of the Bureau. I called on Mihai Ghimpu to resign too if he wants the party to be among voters’ preferences in 2018,” stated Anatol Salaru.
“The party needs another locomotive. It’s useless changing railcars if the locomotive is old and does not pull.”
The minister said he wants to remain a member of the PL. According to him, it does not matter whether he is supported by other party members or not. It is yet import for persons to tell the truth and motivate the other members to take a decision when the party goes through a difficult period and lost perspectives.
As to the post of minister, Anatol Salaru said a dismissal decree will be probably signed the coming days by President Nicolae Timofti and Prime Minister Pavel Filip will be unable to reject this.
