Life Kyiv seems to be returning to normal, with people from all over Ukraine coming to the city center to see the exhibition of Russian military equipment destroyed by the Ukrainian army, observed ex-defense minister Anatol Şalaru, who just returned from the Ukrainian capital. A whopping 93% of Ukrainians support their president and the army, and victory will be on Ukraine’s side, Anatol Şalaru is sure.

In Ukraine, Anatol Şalaru had meetings with the head of the Kyiv military administration the chief of staff of the Kyiv defense. The ex-minister describes the resistance of the Ukrainians as “Spartan” and talks about the “unstoppable desire” of the Ukrainian people for freedom and independence.

“Some destroyed buildings have started to be rebuilt, destroyed roads have been rebuilt, bridges are being rebuilt, houses are being rebuilt, people are buying construction materials, there is commotion everywhere, but at the same time everyone is keeping an eye out for what is happening on the front line. Ukraine, with the help of its allies, managed to stop the Russian offensive and go on the counter-offensive, albeit with limited success for now. Unlike the Russians, who shoot at random and kill innocent people, the Ukrainians’ strikes are accurate. Ukraine only destroys military warehouses, military infrastructure, military equipment. If it weren’t for the concrete blocks in front of Kyiv’s public buildings, you wouldn’t even know there is a war. In Kyiv, everything is working normally. Air defense sires are activated when Russian aircraft are detected in Belarus, the Crimean Peninsula area or the Black Sea area. Since it is not known where the rockets will go, the entire country is put on alert”, Anatol Şalaru told a talk show on TVR Moldova.

In Ukraine, the ex-minister paid tribute to the victims of Bucha and Irpin. Anatol Şalaru says that, thanks to the support of the West, the Ukrainian army has modernized considerably, a fact that is making the Kremlin to consider initiating peace negotiations.

“The Kremlin is not interested in the fate of the Russian people: if a few thousand more people have to die, so be it. It’s important for the Russians now to provoke Ukraine into peace negotiations, so that they can take a break from the war, restock, and restart this war with replenished forces. But that won’t happen. 93% of Ukrainians trust the Ukrainian army and support the president”, said the former defense minister.

Yesterday, Ukraine celebrated its 31st Independence Day. Also yesterday, the United States announced a new support package for Ukraine worth 3 billion dollars.
