Anastasia Nikita reaches final of European Wrestling Championships

Moldova’s Anastasia Nikita qualified for the final of the European Wrestling Championships of Rome, IPN reports.

So far she scored three victories in the 59 kg weight class, against Hungary’s Ramona Galambos, Ukraine’s Anhelina Lysak and Germany’s Laura Mertens. In the final, Anastasia meets Bilyana Dodova of Bulgaria.

Emilia Cîrîcu Budeanu (50 kg) and Mariana Drăguțan (55 kg) could also climb on to the winner’s rostrum. They will struggle for bronze. Cîrîcu qualified for the small final even if she lost to Bulgaria’s Miglena Selishka. She will now face Kseniya Stankevich of Belarus. For her part, Drăguțan beat Italy’s Ambra Campagna, but narrowly lost to Ukraine’s Solomiia Vynnyk in the semifinals. In the match for the bronze metal, she plays against Turkey’s Bediha Gun.

Svetlana Saenko (76 kg) also reached the playoffs. She will duel with Norway’s Iselin Solheim.
