Vlad Filat’s statements about Vlad Plahotniuc were a calculated step and not an outburst of emotions. This is the opinion of Nicolae Chirtoaca, voiced during a Publika TV show. According to him, PLDM is trying to reset some principles within the Alliance, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Vlad Filat rarely delivers such outbursts of emotions, he’s very calculated. What happened wasn’t the result of personal feelings, but a well-thought step, a strategy of PLDM. The party decided to review the rules within the AIE and Filat said that this resetting would either take place under PLDM’s authority or wouldn’t take place at all”, mentioned Nicolae Chirtoaca. Political analysts Igor Botan added that Filat’s allegations could be an excuse for foreign partners regarding the lack of reforms until now. “It’s an excuse of the Moldovan leaders for their western partners that keep Moldova afloat. It’s the most likely conclusion. They won’t go on tearing AIE apart, but will have justifications for the foreign partners. Dirk Schuebel said that the honeymoon was over for Moldova and it was time to do some reforms. Now, they can blame the lack of reforms on the conflict between them”, said Igor Botan. Alexandru Muravschi, former Minister of Economy, thinks that economic interests are the cause of all AIE disputes. “Men with a career in business rarely turn into true politicians. Their thinking is too different. It’s based on egocentrism and fighting for their property. Many who have entered politics continued to follow the rules of business”, said Alexandru Muravschi. Nicolae Chirtoaca supported him and added that oligarchs’ influence on Moldovan politics was growing and coming to power became their main goal. “Power at all levels is attractive, a cash cow that drains public funds”, he said. Prime Minister and PLDM leader Vlad Filat declared during a press conference on Friday that the “puppeteer” he had spoken about was Vlad Plahotniuc, PDM first vice-president and First Deputy Speaker. The latter replied that Filat should be busy solving people’s problems and not with “puppets, puppeteers and other nicknames”.
