Wrestler Ana Ciuchitu became European Under 21 taekwondo champion. At the competition held in Warsaw, the athlete trained by Vladislav Mazur won six victories, IPN reports.
In the semifinals of the 62 kg weight class, Ciuchitu beat an athlete from Turkey. In the final, she defeated a wrestler from Croatia. This year Ciuchitu also medaled at the international tournaments in Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, and Romania.
The 2018 European Under 21 Taekwondo Championships also involved Moldovan athletes Veaceslav Diuta and Ion Cașcaval. Diuta scored a victory, while Cașcaval was eliminated after the first battle.
