Six persons were arrested on suspicion that they set up a laboratory for preparing amphetamine at the home of one of the suspects. At the man’s home, the police found about 2 kg of amphetamine that costs about 1 million lei on the black market, IPN reports.
According to the National Patrolling Inspectorate, the clandestine lab for processing and selling drugs was set up in the home of a man in Negurenii Vechi village of Ungheni district. The 26-year-old suspect has chemistry education. He bought precursors from the Transnistrian region and from national drugstores. In domestic conditions, he and a number of accomplices of his from Chisinau, Ungheni, Comrat and Orhei, aged between 21 and 30, produced amphetamine.
The police discovered about 2 kg of amphetamine and special installations and equipment for making drugs. It was established that the group had worked for over a year. The substance was sold for 500 lei a gram mainly in nightclubs.
A criminal case was started over illegal putting of narcotic, psychotropic substances and analogues into circulation. The suspects face 7 to 15 years in jail.
