The amnesty and pardoning in the case of persons who sexually abused children will be banned. This is stipulated in a bill put forward by the Liberal-Democratic MPs Liliana Palihovich and Maria Ciobanu, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under the bill, the persons convicted of raping juveniles and of having sexual relations with persons who did not turn 16 as well as the persons sentenced for recruiting children for sexual purposes or child prostitution cannot be amnestied or pardoned. According to the statistics of the National Center for Child Abuse Prevention, the number of applications concerning suspected cases of abuse, neglect and child trafficking increased from 250 in 2010 to 418 in 2011. The abused children in 80-85% of the cases know the persons who subjected them to actions of sexual character, but do not speak about them.
