AMN ministers report on their progress

The ministers representing Our Moldova Alliance (AMN) in the outgoing Cabinet formed by the Alliance for European Integration presented on Saturday their progress reports, believing that they fared well with their tasks during one year in office. According to Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc, in the reporting period agriculture and food industry saw growth of 11% and 15%, respectively. Also, Moldova increased exports to China and the European Union. Valeriu Cosarciuc assured that wine exports will also increase next year. Education Minister Leonid Bujor says the education system saw visible progress compared with the previous years. In this context, Leonid Bujor mentioned the salary hikes for the teachers, which will take place in two stages, in January and September 2011. Among other achievements, the minister mentioned the removal of the age limit in education and the introduction of optional religion courses. According to Information Technology Minister Alexadru Oleinic, Moldova ranks high among the countries with low Internet prices, which is due to liberalization measures on the market. Victor Osipov, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, said the dialogue for the Transnistrian conflict settlement saw firm steps. One of the biggest achievements, according to Osipov, was the resumption of train movement between Chisinau and Odessa via the Transnistrian region. The reconnection of landline phone networks in the immediate future hopefully will be another accomplishment.
