Amici dei Bambini Moldova launches the fundraising campaign “Help me Build a Future” aimed at the young graduates of boarding schools. The campaign will take place at the Everest shopping center between March 6 and May 6, 2009. “Now, in the run-up to the spring holidays, when all the children are excited to prepare the most wonderful presents for their mothers, the abandoned children can only imagine having somebody that is thinking of them. If they did not have a childhood, together we can help them build a future. Our support today means their success tomorrow,” a communique from Amici dei Bambini Moldova says. Stela Vasluian, the director of the Amici dei Bambini Office in Moldova, has told Info-Prim Neo that a box for donations will be present in the hall of the shopping center during the first two spring months. On the first day of the campaign (March 6), the beneficiaries of the social event will congratulate the visitors of Everest on the spring holidays and offer them by a greeting card made by themselves with dedication. The campaign aims to help 35 boarding school graduates get socially and professionally integrated – 20 from the Boarding School No. 2 in Chisinau and 15 from four boarding schools in Leova, Straseni, Orhei towns and in Cazanesti village of Telenesti district. The collected money will be used to pay scholarships and cover the costs of food and the accommodation and transport expenses. The 35 young men have been already selected. They attend psychotherapy and group meetings. The campaign “Help me Build a Future” is a continuation of the charity concert organized by Amici dei Bambini Moldova on November 13, 2008. A sum of 21,860 lei was then collected and another 35 children from boarding schools were given hope for a better future. In 2008, Amici dei Bambini Moldova also supported 20 graduates of four boarding schools. The association’s team of specialists helped the 20 young persons legalize their identification papers and enter pre-university education institutions. Amici dei Bambini Moldova has worked in Moldova for over 10 years. It implements different cooperation projects aimed at promoting the rights of the child to have a family and to social integration.
