American Energy Company AES is interested in implementing investment projects in Moldova

The American Energy Company “AES” is interested in implementing several investment projects in the filed of traditional and alternative power production. Vice-president of the American corporation Steve Walsh stated during a meeting with the Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev that there are good investment opportunities in Moldova, namely for the implementation of such projects. “AES Corporation” examines at present the opportunities of investing in the energy sector of Moldova. At present, “AES” operates in 27 countries, being one of the largest companies in the field of electric power production and distribution. The Prime Minister confirmed the intention of the Government to create a favourable investment climate for all entrepreneurs and said he is ready to offer all the necessary support for the implementation of joint investment projects. According to Tarlev, the Government will pay a special attention to the increase in volume of the own electric power production, including alternative, in order to strengthen the energy security of Moldova.
