The perennial plantations will be liquidated with the authorization of the local public administration, IPN reports, quoting the amendments and supplements approved by the Government to its previous decisions.

Currently, these plantations are cleared based on Government decisions. “The decentralization of this duty and its transferring to the local authorities will ensure a higher degree of flexibility and swiftness in issuing decisions. Also, the administrative costs supported by the holders of perennial plantations will be reduced,” said Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ion Sula.

The perennial plantations become inefficient from economic viewpoint when the voids represent over 50% of the area of the plantation and when the plantation is located on areas whose purpose or usage way was changed.
