The amendments to the Law on the Government adopted by Parliament on January 12 materialize the agreements reached by the constituents of the government coalition, Speaker Marian Lupu said Wednesday.
The Head of Parliament stressed that the agreements of the ruling alliance were confirmed by this joint initiative presented in Parliament. “The bill was signed by a person from the PDM, a person from the PLDM and a person from the PL. We do not play with the understandings and I’m glad that all my colleagues took it serious,” said the leader of the PDM, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Marian Lupu also said that the MPs have a lot of work to do to adjust the national legislation to the European standards. However, the European Union also does not have a certain standard as regards the Government’s work. “We should not transform things into a fetish. The EU forces none of its members to treat the Government in a certain way,” the Speaker stated.
On Wednesday, the Parliament approved the composition of the permanent commissions and the bill with amendments to the Law on the Government. On Friday, January 14, Premier designate Vlad Filat is to present the new government program and new members of the Cabinet.
