The changes made to the last version of the Law on Guaranteeing of Equality had been coordinated with the External Relations Department of the European Commission, the deputy chairwoman of the Liberal Party Corina Fusu said after Friday’s sitting of Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. She stated that the Liberal MPs voted for the law because the free movement is a right of the citizens living in Moldova or living and working in the EU member states. “In the name of the Liberal faction, I want to say that the Alliance for European Integration undertook the European integration course and Moldova is negotiating three important documents with the European Union – the Agreement on Visa Liberalization, the Agreement on the Creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, and the Association Agreement,” said Corina Fusu. Moldova pledged to pass 42 laws in Parliament. “The laws we voted today – the Law on Guaranteeing of Equality and the Law on the Reorganization of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime – are the last two overdue laws that prevented us from shifting to the second stage of the Action Plan on Visa Liberalization, i.e. the implementation phase,” stated the MP. On June 26, the European Commission may give official permission to switch to the second stage and, if Moldova passes it successfully, the Moldovan citizens will be able to travel visa-free in the EU.
