The Government approved a bill designed to improve the court decision implementation procedure by contributing to enhancing the functioning of the Disciplinary Board of Bailiffs and the Licensing Commission, to making the bailiffs more responsible and to strengthening the role of the National Bailiffs Union in the process of supervising the bailiffs’ activity, IPN reports.

The bill obliges the bailiffs to register the execution documents in an electronic register of implementation procedures and specifies the procedure for organizing the contest to allow candidates to enter the profession of bailiff. It also introduces the age limit of 65 for persons who want to work as a bailiff, enumerates the actions that represent disciplinary deviances and increases the highest fine imposed as a disciplinary punishment to 12,000 lei.

The bill was drafted with the aim of carrying out the legislative measures stipulated in the plan of action for implementing the justice sector reform strategy for 2011-2016.
