Ambulances get stuck in snowdrifts

Two ambulances got stuck on roads in Taraclia owing to the snowstorm and snowdrifts. The medical teams got yet to destination after being towed by teams of rescuers. Another ambulance got stuck on a road in Burlăceni village of Cahul district. This was also towed away by rescuers, IPN reports.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the drivers of over 170 vehicles that became trapped on roads in central and southern districts were helped by rescuers and firefighters. The vehicles included trucks, ambulances and cars.

In Căușeni, a pregnant woman could not get to the maternity hospital owing to the unfavorable weather conditions. She was taken to the hospital by rescuers and in less than an hour gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

In Cimișlia, the rescuers towed away a bus with 15 passengers on it that was running on an international route.
