The prehospital emergency medical assistance service was outfitted with rapid antigen tests for detecting SARS CoV-2, while the ambulance teams were trained to use these. The testing of patients who are suspected of having COVID-19 at the prehospital stage started on September 7, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Health.
According to the Ministry, the stepping up of COVID-19 testing, including within the ambulance service, will enable to ensure increased control over the infection.
The Ministry of Health reminds of the importance of correctly wearing face masks, obeying the respiratory and hand hygiene rules and of getting a vaccine against COVID-19 so as to protect oneself from infection. On the first symptoms of disease, the persons should call the family doctor or the 112 Service.
The rapid antigen tests provided to the prehospital emergency medical assistance service form part of the 100,000 tests donated by Romania to Moldova last weekend.
