Four foreign ambassadors will give speeches before journalists at the Media Forum 2017 that will take place in Chisinau on November 14 and 15. These are the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Michalko, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Julia Monar, Ambassador of the Netherlands Stela Ronner-Grubacic and British Ambassador Lucy Rebecca Joyce OBE, IPN reports.

The event will also involve Moldovan officials and experts from the United States, Germany, Poland, Romania, Latvia, and Israel.

The program of the first day of the Forum includes three masterclasses that will be conducted by foreign experts for media professionals from TV, online and print media, including Deutsche Welle experts Andrey Gurkov and Mirko Lorenz and the editor of a popular Polish newspaper Piotr Piotrowicz. In the evening, there will be held two side events, on fact-checking with Romanian expert Ovidiu Vanghele and on crowdfunding for the media with Israeli expert Linor Goralik.

On the second day, the participants will be able to discuss problems experienced in the professional activity of journalists at six simultaneous thematic workshops. A resolution and supplements to the roadmap for developing the mass media will be debated and adopted later and will be submitted to the Moldovan authorities, foreign embassies, European and international organizations and experts that monitor the democratic development of Moldova, other interested persons and institutions.

The Forum will be held in Romanian. The opening and closing sessions will be interpreted synchronously into Russian and English.

Those who want to take part in the event can register online at www.mediaforum.md by November 5, 2017.

The Media Forum 2017 is financed by the Media Program of Soros Foundation Moldova and is co-financed by Germany’s Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and DW Academie and the U.S. Embassy in Moldova.
