China respects and always supports the road chosen by Moldova independently. During over 30 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Moldova, both of the sides have constantly abided by the principle of mutual benefit and respect, noninterference in internal affairs and supported each other in issues related to sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is the solid political foundation on which the Chinese-Moldovan relations can develop in a stable and healthy way, China’s Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Yan Wenbin stated in a reception held for representatives of the media and think tanks, IPN reports.

Yan Wenbin noted that the Chinese side wants to develop the friendship and cooperation relations with the Moldovan side without geopolitical interest. “There are now no political problems in the Chinese-Moldovan relations and I’m deeply convinced that there will be no problems in the future. The main task for China and Moldova is to constantly realize the potential of practical cooperation in different areas and to bring palpable benefits to the people of the two countries. The figures of the trade between China and Moldova grow yearly and today China is the fifth largest commercial partner of Moldova. The Moldovan wines become increasingly popular among Chinese consumers. I’m myself an active ‘promoter’ of the Moldovan wines in China and use any occasion to help the wine producers from Moldova to subsequently develop on the Chinese market,” said the diplomat.

“The Embassy of China in Moldova will continue maintaining close cooperation with our friends from the mass media and think tanks and hopes that you will devote increased attention to the Chinese-Moldovan cooperation and will conduct relevant research. The Embassy of China is making every effort to promote this activity.”

“The aspirations and ambitions that the Republic of Moldova has at the moment will not be achieved if we all do not better know the development opportunities offered by the advanced and dynamic relationship with China. Moldova wants to be rich, technologically developed and to have a sustainable, clean energy system. All these technologies come inclusively from the People’s Republic of China. I think we will all agree, primarily our guild, of those who analyze socioeconomic phenomena, that Moldova hasn’t yet fully explored the development benefits in the relations with China,” stated Vadim Pistrinciuc, executive director of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives. He highly appreciated the fact that the People’s Republic of China supports Moldova’s aspiration to join the European Union.

The Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă said the friendship between the people of Moldova and China is based on the principles established in the 1990s. Even if China is geographically far away, the people of China have always been close to Moldova. “We have an important objective - to present this relationship between Moldova and China to the public in Moldova. We have Chinese speakers in our country and also counterparts who come from China to study the Romanian language in the Republic of Moldova and contribute to this dimension of public diplomacy,” stated Daniel Vodă.
