China and Moldova are two friendly countries and good partners. The two countries have always upheld the principles of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, and have given each other firm support in matters of sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Chinese side always respects the development path chosen independently by Moldova, China’s Ambassador to Moldova Yan Wenbin stated at the reception on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Proclamation of the People’s Republic of China, IPN reports.

“I have been in Moldova for more than a year and I truly felt the friendship of Moldova towards China and the strong desire to develop cooperation between the two countries […] The main task of both sides, at present, is to fully explore the potential of cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, culture, tourism and others.
China’s vast market is open to high-quality agricultural products from Moldova. I personally am the most active promoter of Moldovan agricultural products on the Chinese market. As the latest development, through the efforts of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the General Administration of Customs of China has especially developed a simplified procedure for approving the entry into the Chinese market of sunflower meal and grape seeds from Moldova, the necessary documents being in the signing process. The Chinese Embassy has also established a coordination mechanism with the Moldovan authorities and is making efforts to promote the export to China of apples, table grapes, cherries, plums and other Moldovan agricultural products,” said Ambassador Yan Wenbin.

According to him, the delightful news is that this year, the Technical University of Moldova and the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” signed memorandums of collaboration with the Agricultural University of China, and with the School of Dentistry in Western China of the Sichuan University respectively, the two agreements being in the implementation process.

“Chinese tourists are often called “walking wallets”. The Chinese Embassy actively collaborates with the relevant authorities and enterprises from China and Moldova to stimulate the increase in the number of Chinese tourists visiting Moldova. Attracting Chinese investments to Moldova is one of our priorities and we hope to achieve significant progress in this area as soon as possible. Of course, China will continue to do its best to support and help Moldova’s economic and social development,” said the Chinese diplomat.

He noted that although the international and regional situation is very complex, he trusts that the friendship and cooperation between China and Moldova will continue to develop, bringing tangible benefits to the two countries and their people.

“We probably all have the feeling that the world is once again at the crossroads of history, and the direction we are headed depends on the choices of the people of each country. In China, there is an old saying: “What you don’t like yourself, don’t do to someone else.” China has always been on the right side of history, supporting peace, development, progress, and pursuing an independent, peaceful foreign policy. China is steadily advancing on the Chinese path of modernization, comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. At the same time, through its own development, China is actively contributing to global prosperity. World Bank data shows that from 2013 to 2021, China’s average contribution to global economic growth was up to 38.6%, surpassing the G7 total. Data from the International Monetary Fund also indicate that this year, China’s contribution will reach about a third of the global economic growth. Hard facts show that the Chinese state represents the biggest development opportunity on a world-wide scale,” stated the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Yan Wenbin.
