Russia lost any war when it wasn’t supported by West-European allies and it will therefore also lose the war against Ukraine, said the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova Marko Shevchenko. According to the diplomat, Ukraine is supported by the most prosperous countries of the world and this will secure its victory, IPN reports.

In almost a year of the start of the war in Ukraine, Ambassador Marko Shevchenko said the resolve of the people of Ukraine to score a victory in this war has a reflection in polls. Almost the entire population of Ukraine supports President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“All the polls conducted at the end of last year and the beginning of this year show that the Ukrainians support the activities of President Zelensky, about 93%. This is absolutely admirable unity and it is for the first time in the contemporary history of Ukraine that the whole population supports the national leader’s activities. The economic problems will only start when the war is over. Ukraine will experience serious economic difficulties. We experience difficulties now too, but I repeat that Russia won all the wars, at least in Europe, only when it had West-European allies. So, without the support of the European allies, Russia loses and I’m sure that it will lose this war too. Ukraine is supported by the richest and most prosperous countries of the world. After the war, the process of reconstruction and modernization for Europeanization will start,” Marko Shevchenko stated in the program “Reflection Points” on Vocea Basarabiei channel.

The Ambassador of Ukraine also said that the rocket fragments that fell down on the territory of the Republic of Moldova were deliberately aimed there by Russia as this wants to cause fear and panic among the Moldovans.

“I don’t think these rocket fragments fell down accidently. Russia chose this trajectory intentionally in order to destabilize the situation. It is an additional destabilization instrument for the people to be afraid. When rockets violate the airspace, it’s normal for the people to be afraid. The goal is to make the people lose quietness. When the people are anxious, they become receptive to any information, even false one,” said the Ukrainian diplomat.

On February 24, it will be a year since Russia launched its war of aggression against Ukraine. According to official statistics made public at the start of February by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, there are about 102,000 refugees in Moldova at present.
