President Nicolae Timofti handed over the Order of Honor to Ambassador of Japan to Moldova, with residence in Kiev, Toichi Sakata on October 3, IPN reports.
According to the presidential press service, the order was conferred by presidential decree in gratitude for the substantial contribution to developing and strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Moldova and Japan.
The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on March 16, 1992. Toichi Sakata was named Ambassador to Moldova, with residence in Kiev, on March 14, 2012.
