Moldova's Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta told Info-Prim Neo from Moscow that he filled with pride when he saw the Moldovan military men marching at the general rehearsal for the May 9 parade that will take place in the Red Square. The exercise lasted for about two hours. “Our soldiers are the best. They are tall, handsome and dressed in extraordinary uniforms. I fill with pride when I look at them and I know I will not flush before my colleagues,” Ambassador Andrei Neguta said. At the parade in Moscow, the diplomat will represent Moldova at official level as Acting President Mihai Ghimpu decided to remain at home. He will stay on the central platform in the square, alongside other ambassadors. The Moldovan contingent consists of 70 military men. In Moscow, they are accompanied by four military men in reserve, a doctor and a senior officer. According to the Russian press, Russia's Minister of Defense Anatoli Serdiukov said the May 9 parade dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory over fascism will be the greatest Russia ever saw. The event will be attended by representatives from 10 CIS countries as well as from the U.S., France, Poland and the UK. The parade will start with the march of the Russian soldiers who will wear uniforms of the Second World War, while the garrison will bear World War II standards and the Russian flag. Terrestrial, air, maritime and spacial troops and a subdivision of the internal troops and border police will take part in the parade. The military orchestra will be composed of over 1,000 people.
