The Tasuleasa Social Association of Romania during a month will give alpinism lessons for 300 persons older than 18 from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. During four days, the participants will be able to learn how to climb mountains, to familiarize themselves with the necessary equipment and to admire the Calimani Mountains, IPN reports.

An event to present the project was staged in Chisinau on May 30. Iulian Gabor, volunteer of the Tasuleasa Social Association, said the enthusiasm and the high number of those who applied in 2015 convinced the organizers of the utility and success of such a project and encouraged them to make everything possible for the second Alpinism School to be organized this year. Though enrolment started ten days ago, more than 400 persons applied to the project already, with almost 300 of these being from the Republic of Moldova. Applications can be submitted by July 3.

The alpinism school will take place between August 15 and September 12. The organizers cover all the costs besides those for travelling to the campus of the Tasuleasa Social Association.

Iulian Gabor said the main objective of the project is to train persons who want to lead an active and healthy lifestyle by gaining knowledge about alpinism and putting it into practice. The secondary objective of the project is to teach the participants to protect the environment and the tourism potential of the area.

The selected persons will take part in workshops where they will learn how to climb mountains and how to behave and act in different situations. After the courses, they will go on a two-day mountain trip together with instructors.

Each participant will spend by four days and four nights in the campus of the Tasuleasa Social Association in Pasul Tihuta and in tents in the Calimani Mountains. The 300 selected persons will be divided into groups of 25 participants each.
