If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 16% of the voters would not know who to vote for. 6% of the respondents were unable to give a clear answer. Thus, almost each fifth person would be unable to make a conscious choice, shows the sociological poll “Vox Populi” that was presented by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova on November 12, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Association’s head Victor Mocanu said 35.3% of the respondents who share certain political beliefs would vote for the Communists Party, 19.8% - the PLDM, 12.5% - the PDM,11% - the PL, while 6.5% - the AMN. The Humanist Party would also poll more than 4% and would enter Parliament. Thus, the next legislative body would consist of six or even seven parties. The poll says 59% of the respondents will definitely vote in elections, while 20% will probably vote. “The turnout would be lower than at the previous elections, when 85% of the voters took part in elections,” Mocanu said. Asked why they would vote for a certain party or leader, 27% of those questioned said they appreciate the qualities of the party’s leader, the party’s activities, respect for the people and loyalty to the voters. 17% said they would vote for a party because they share its ideology, while 14% because they consider the team is powerful. “Most of those polled said they would vote only if the living standards improve, the elections will be free and fair and the parties will regain people’s trust. These arguments were presented mainly by those who are undecided. This group of persons holds the greatest interest for sociologists,” Victor Mocanu said. The study shows that 1% of the voters are ready to go to the polls if they are paid for this, while 0.2% if the stamp “voted” is not put in the identity card. 58% of those surveyed are dissatisfied that new early elections will take place, 38% consider the Communists Party is to blame for such a situation, while 25% said all the forces involved in the political process are responsible for this. The poll covered a sample of 1,583 respondents from 65 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 2.65%.
