Nearly 70 couples chose to unite their destinies on February 14, when it is celebrated Saint Valentine's Day. According to Public Services Agency data, 93 marriages were registered in Moldova on February 14 last year, as opposed to 89 marriages the previous year, IPN reports.
The average age of spouses who married in recent years reflects the youth and the enthusiasm of love: men – between 26 and 27 years old, women – between 22 and 24 years old.
Many of the young parents choose to name their newborn children Valentin and Valentina. In total, 15,328 men and boys bear the name Valentin, and 58,036 women and girls were called Valentina.
"Regardless of how we choose to celebrate this day – through a romantic gesture, a promise of love or a simple hug – the important thing is to cherish authentic feelings and offer affection and respect to our loved ones," said the Public Services Agency.
