The electronic system through which the public servants and functionaries submitted online property and interest statements worked without impediments, even if by over 5,000 statements were submitted on some days. This is a success, said the president of the National Integrity Authority Rodica Antoci.

“We achieved remarkable results thanks to the support of the development partners, such as the World Bank and the State Chancellery, and owing to the colleagues from the Electronic Governance Center and the Special Telecommunications Center,” Rodica Antoci told a news conference, IPN reports.

By creating the e-Integrity system that became functional at the start of this year, the National Integrity Authority aimed to ensure transparency in the process of submitting property and interest statements. The system enables not only to submit and sign statements in electronic form, but also to see information registered in other databases or information systems. The integrity inspectors could thus verify the communicated information.

The electronic register of entities that must submit property and interest statements includes 57,569 public servants and functionaries. During January 1 - March 31, there were presented 58,080 property and interest statements, said Rodica Antoci.

The National Integrity Authority plans to launch a contest to employ the about 50 integrity inspectors who will verify the statements.

In July 2016, Parliament obliged the public servants and functionaries to submit property and interest statements in electronic form. The e-Integrity system was implemented at a cost of about US$ 100,000.
