Nearly 100 young specialists trained at the Excellence Center in Border Security on June 15 received the graduate insignias. This is the tenth class of the foundation of the education institution. In his congratulatory message addressed to the future border police officers, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the chosen job is one of the most responsible ones as it consists in ensuring the people’s security.
In the ceremony, Pavel Filip underlined the contribution made by the Border Police to obtaining the liberalized visa regime with the EU four years ago. Another important project implemented with the assistance of the border police is the opening of jointly operated Moldovan-Ukrainian customs posts. These enabled, for the first time since the declaration of independence, to control the Transnistrian segment of the border. “The Republic of Moldova should be able to fully control its border. For our country, this is a necessity, not an option,” stated the Premier.
For the contribution to developing the institution and on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the creation of the Border Police, the Premier offered nine Government diplomas to employees with special merits in service.
The Excellence Center in Border Security is the only vocational education institution in Moldova that trains qualified specialists in state border surveillance and control.
