Almost 1 000 people housed by Accommodation Centre in Chisinau

Since the weather grew colder, almost 1 000 people found refuge at the Chisinau-based Accommodation Center. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca ordered making raids through the municipality in order to find homeless persons and take them to this center for the night, Info-Prim Neo reports. Municipal police chief Silviu Musuc said that such raids are already performed during the day and at night. The Accommodation Center offers the persons a hot meal. The police are also making effort to find homeless persons’ relatives to see if they can return home. Silviu Musuc said the police and sentinel regiment ”Scut” reported an unusual case. A 39-year-old man from Cupcini village of Edinet district made a hut in a park in Chisinau municipality and ate dog and cat meat. He was taken to the Accommodation Center and then allowed to go home. The police call on the people not to pass by indifferently when they see persons sleeping on the street and to call 22-35-14 or 902 in order to prevent tragedies.
