The parents from Transnistria who maintain a child with disabilities will get a monthly allowance of 339 Transnistrian rubbles (595 lei). Only one of the parents, who is able to work, but is unemployed, is entitled to this allowance, IPN reports, quoting newspmr.com.
If two or more children with disabilities are maintained, the allowance is set for each child apart. The money will be collected from social insurance centers located in towns and district centers in the Transnistrian region, according to the parents’ residence.
Only the parents who will submit applications to the mother and child divisions of social centers will benefit from such allowances.
Parents who maintain children with disabilities said any assistance is welcome because the costs they incur are much larger than in the case of a healthy child.
Those who were granted guardianship of a child with disabilities and the parents deprived of parental rights are not entitled to allowances.
