The social benefits for the family members of veterans who died in the line of duty, namely war widows, children and parents, will be higher as from March 1. A provision to this effect is contained in a draft law registered in Parliament. According to the authors, the proposal was formulated because the monthly state allowance granted to war veterans was increased by a fixed amount of 250 lei from January 1, 2024, IPN reports.
The bill also provides for the increase of allowances for other participants in World War II from among the military.
It is estimated that a total of 570 persons are to benefit from monthly state allowances raised by the fixed amount of 250 lei as of March 1, 2024.
