Alleged authors of Briceni murder detained

Officers of the Ministry of the Interior’s Police Department on April 13 arrested three persons who are suspected of committing a theft and murder in Larga village of Briceni district. On the night of April 3, two masked individuals entered a house and maltreated a man and his wife. The man died as a result of the injuries he received, Info-Prim Neo reports. The victim aged 60 owned several plots of land. He had a large sum of money in the house as he sold the crops he harvested. The offenders stole 125,000 lei, 8,000 Russian rubles and other goods. Ion Bodrug, deputy head of the Ministry’s Police Department, said they presume the men had been involved in other cases of robbery committed in northern Moldova. If the court finds them guilty, the culprits will serve up to 25 years behind bars.
