The six people who lost their lives in the railway accident in Russia are Moldovans, Russian Minister of Health Veronica Skvortsova said, quoted by Interfax Agency. The accident happened in the first half of May 20, at a distance of 80 km from Moscow, IPN reports.
Most of those who were hurt are also Moldovans. Among them are five Russians who suffered different injuries. The Russian minister said 10 people are in a serious condition.
The train running on the Moscow – Chisinau route was stuck by a Ukrainian freight train that derailed. The freight train seriously damaged three railcars of the passenger train. A Moldovan team of specialists went to Russia to provide assistance to the hospitalized victims and to help repatriate the Moldovans who died.
