All the employees of state institutions who will be diagnosed with COVID-19 will receive a lump sum of 16,000 lei, no matter whether they got infected at the workplace or at home, IPN reports.
President Igor Dodon, after the working meeting with Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi and Prime Minister Ion Chicu, said all the doctors, nurses, police officers and state functionaries who contracted the novel coronavirus should benefit from the lump sum. “How can we know that a doctor or a police officer became infected at home or at the workplace, while on the job or five days earlier, given the incubation period?” asked the official.
Earlier, Nicolae Furtună, director of the National Public Health Agency, said that 29 healthcare workers became infected at the workplace in March according to the epidemiological questionnaires. Namely these persons were to get a lump sum of 16,000 lei. A working group consisting of specialists of the Agency and directors of public health facilities compiled this list of 29 persons after establishing the cause-effect connection, said Nicolae Furtună.
