All the people reported as missing after the violent protests of April 7 have been found. The announcement was made on May 6 by Vladimir Botnari, the police general commissioner of Chisinau. The Chisinau city hall last week announced two people could not be found, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Explanations have been taken from all of them,” Botnari told a news conference. “Those people's disappearances is a way of living. For instance, someone wants to leave the country and not tell his parents, someone else wants to go a district in the country, other even hide because of acts they committed,” the general commissar kept exemplifying. Vladimir Botnari says there are 9 people still in custody and there is no proof police would be guilty of ill-treatment. “Only the court decides a citizen's guiltiness, regardless of his profession. Up to now we have no court verdict finding guilty any police employees of committing abuses, violence against protesters,” the general commissar said. He has promised to study the conclusions of the international organisms and “immediate measures will be taken to remove the faults they speak about.” According to an official with the Chisinau city hall, Alexandra Motpan, 322 people have called for the city hall's assistance after being attacked or apprehended by the police.
