All the ministries and other governmental agencies shall come up within 2 months with proposals for a new policy to reintegrate our country. This was stated by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelets after the meeting of the Government Commission for Reintegration, which was held today after a break of nearly two years, IPN reports.

“We also discussed certain aspects that derive from the general objectives set out in the government program. A few decisions were adopted, including one establishing the frequency of the Commission meetings. The idea was highlighted that we need a new approach to reintegration, which is now moving very slowly”, the premier told reporters.

Strelets added he tried to draw the attention of his fellow Commission members to the fact that the regional developments “are opening up a new vision and new opportunities to settle the Transnistrian conflict, which has been dragging for far too long, impeding European integration and the implementation of reforms”.

Victor Osipov, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, told reporters that it has been made every governmental authority's duty to re-evaluate the Transnistrian conflict in its area of competence, and the resulting proposals would be at the basis of a new government policy on this matter.

“The most important thing is that, aside from the responsible entity, all the state institutions will work towards this end. It remains to see how we can consolidate the capacities of the Government in this process”, stated Victor Osipov.

As concerns the 5+2 talks, whose next round hasn't been scheduled yet, Victor Osipov said the Government's role is to increase the role of the EU and U.S. in this process.
