All kindergartens in Gagauzia equipped with computers

Due to a PC supply program launched by the Edelweiss Foundation, all the 60 kindergartens in Gagauzia have access to new information technology, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release from the Foundation's Public Relations Department. “This is a historical event. It is an important gift that nobody in Moldova offered to Gagauzia before. Support to talented children is an important mission. They are the future of the country,” the head of the General Education Department of Gagauzia Vera Balova said during the handover ceremony. The Bashkan of Gagauzia Mihail Furmuzal appreciated the gesture. “The Edelweiss Foundation's representatives help us in achieving our objectives, help our kids to get access to training and more efficient education, which includes the usage of modern technology. PCs are extremely necessary. It is wonderful that business people, who earn their money through hard work and perseverance, started to be more socially responsible and invest in the development of their country as well,” he said. Edelweiss founder Vlad Plahotniuc said the event represents the launch of a major important national project of the Foundation – the equipping of pre-school institutions with PCs. “It is obvious that in the highly technological world that we live today, we have to teach our kids to use modern instruments from early childhood,” he stressed. The Edelweiss Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit and apolitical organization, established by businessman Vlad Plahotniuc with the objective of developing equal opportunities for the talented people of Moldova.
