All children under 2 years of age, regardless of the parents’ mandatory insurance status, will enjoy a special allowance of 1000 lei per month. The proposed measure is being developed by the Government and is up for public consultations on the website www.particip.gov.md.
This special allowance will replace the childcare benefit for uninsured parents, which currently is 750 lei. But the new allowance will also be granted to insured parents.
“We are talking about an additional amount that will be given to everyone. The planned additional annual budget is approximately 300 million lei. This is very good news for young families”, said Dan Perciun (PAS), chair of the Social Protection Committee.
