The Liberal-Democratic MP Alexandru Tanase, the representative of the Parliament at Tuesday’s meeting of the Constitutional Court, said that the Communists’ claim that the Parliament’s decisions of August 28 are unconstitutional clearly points to lack of pertinence and logical connection, Info-Prim Neo reports. “On August 28, the 53 members of the Alliance for European Integration did nothing but elect the Head of Parliament,” Tanase said, stressing that the PCRM filed the contestation for political reasons and it cannot change the situation. “In reality, this contestation only delays the constitution of the legislative bodies of the state,” the MP said. The authors of the PCRM’s application insist that a number of violations were committed at the first sitting of the Parliament held on August 28. The oldest MP Ivan Calin announced a break until September 4, but the Alliance ignored his decision. Aurel Baiesu, another representative of the Parliament at the Constitutional Court, said that the rights of the 48 Communists were not infringed on August 28 as the MPs left the assembly hall voluntarily.
