The current chairman of the Farmers Association UniAgroProtect Alexandru Slusari, who earlier announced his resignation, will not leave his post. In a news conference, this said that his resignation wasn’t accepted by his colleagues from the association, IPN reports.
“In order to prevent the association about which I care a lot from being affected, I tendered my resignation. However, after debates held on March 31, the association’s Board rejected my resignation. There are no signs of division at UniAgroProtect,” stated Alexandru Slusari.
He also said that he was contacted by colleagues who told him that they spoke with representatives of the authorities, who suggested that he should better resign as his statements are political in character and do harm to the famers’ organization. “The pressure is greater because I’m more active publicly and more critical and demand that the wrongdoings should be punished and that changes should be brought about in the country,” said the chairman of UniAgroProtect.
Last year, Alexandru Slusari joined the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”. Afterward, when a part of the platform’s founders announced the creation of the party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, Slusari was chosen as the party’s deputy head.
